The Seven Islands International Film Festival will kick-start in October 26th and go on till the 29th. The event, which will be held at the TAG Auditorium at the Bhavan's Rajaji Vidyashram, Kilpauk, is organized by the APNA Group.

According to a press note from the organizers: “A 'touring festival', Seven Islands International Film festival aims at creating a platform where different communities and students come together to watch, deliberate and discuss independent cinema. Launched at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, the Festival aims to bring together global radical filmmakers with new cinematic approaches that break through the clutter of traditional filmmaking.”

On this year’s theme, Sakshi Ojha, the Festival Director of Seven Islands International Film Festival said, “Women across the world are making a difference through their unique and remarkable achievements. Last year, especially, has seen women rise against different socio-political and economic odds – from participating in the Arab Spring revolution to taking charge of the opposition party in Myanmar. We decided to celebrate the strength and resilience of women and their inspirational stories.”
